Co-Founder of Super Metro Company Ltd
Super Metro Company was founded by a school dropout known as Nelson Mwangi Nduki and 13 other directors in 2013. Mwangi has been the chairman of the company, and it has gained popularity in the Cental region till to date.
Nelson Mwangi's Profile
Mr. Mwangi was born and raised in a humble family in the Mt. Kenya region. After successfully completed Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, his parents were unable to raise fees at university since he got good grades.
Later, he moved to Nairobi city in search of employment where he started roasting maize to get cash. At this time, Nelson experienced tough situations.
In an interview seen at ''Who Owns Kenya'' he quoted, ''I was brought up in a very poor family. Coming to Nairobi to look for a job was not easy and at one point I had to roast maize in Eastlands near Makadara law courts,'' he said.
Still at the City, he got a job as a lift attendant at a restaurant. He worked hard and later promoted as operations manager at the restaurant.
Due to his savings, he later managed to purchase few matatus and came to join other thirteen entrepreneurs to form a Super Metro Company Limited.
The Rise of the Company
Since Mr. Mwangi has been the Chairman of the company, he formed rules and regulations to its drivers, conductors and other team for it to succeed. The Sacco provides high quality services to its customers and thus raised fame along the region.
''Most drivers feel Super Metro is a school because of the rules and regulations. Drivers and conductors make an application, they bring all requirements, and we set a date for an interview,'' he added.
The aim of Mwangi and other directors of the company, was to restore order of chaotic in matatu industry.
