 EPRA has Announced New Fuel Prices with a Significant Drop 📷 Courtesy Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) on 14th October 2024 has announced a significant decrease in fuel prices. According to a press release statement issued by EPRA, it has announced the following prices in Nairobi. Petroleum by Sh.8.18/litre, Sh.3.54/litre and Sh.6.93/litre respectively. The new prices will be effective by start of 15th October till 14th November 2024. In Nairobi, Super petrol will be sold at Sh.180.66, Diesel Sh.168.06 and Kerosene Sh.151.39. In Mombasa, Super petrol will be sold at Sh.177.42, Diesel Sh.164.82 and Kerosene at Sh.148.45 per litre respectively. In Kisumu prices will be Sh.180.68 Petrol, Sh.168.44 Diesel and Sh.151.82 of Kerosene per litre respectively.  CJ Koome Has Appointed 3 Judges to Handle Petitions Challenging the Ouster of DP Gachagua 📷 Courtesy On Monday 14th October, Chief Justice Martha Koome has formed a three-judge bench to hear petitions challenging DP Rigathi Gachagua's impeachment, led by justices Eric Ogola, Anthony Mrima and Frida Mugambi. This comes after Gachagua filed five petitions to stop the impeachment motion. Deputy President Gachagua, led by a legal team Senior Council Paul Muite is challenging the impeachment on grounds of public participation and Parliament's failure to meet required standards. At the High Court, Koome followed the orders issued by Justice Lawrence Mugambi. ''Following the orders issued by Hon. Mr. Justice L. N.  Will Kericho Governor Mutai Survive the Impeachment Hearing? 📷 Courtesy On 2nd October 2024, Kericho County Governor Erick Mutai, out of 47 MCAs for a total of 31 voted yes to be removed from office while 16 boycotted. The governor has been charged with gross violation of 2010 constitution over allegedly engaging in indecent sexual acts, misappropriation and misallocation of public funds, abuse of office and gross misconduct.  Speaker of the Senate Amason Kingi starts hearing the case from the members which will take a 2-day hearing. However, when the clerk introduced the violations, Mutai pleaded that he is not guilty of such offences. Lawyer Elias Mutuma said to the House a young lady (witness) who is a victim will testify in Mutai's case.
